Supplier Quality
Approved Supplier List + SCAR for IATF 16949 §8.4.1
End-to-end supplier qualification, corrective action tracking, cost recovery, and 8D discipline workflow — inside the same MES as your production records. No separate quality database.
Approved Supplier List (ASL)
Transitions to Approved, Probation, Decertified, and Reapproved require an electronic signature.
The ASL state machine enforces sign-off at every consequential transition. Attempting to approve or decertify a supplier without a valid signed authorization returns an error — the record cannot be in an unvalidated state. All signatures are immutable and timestamped.
SCAR workflow — AIAG 8D methodology
Supplier Corrective Action Requests follow the AIAG 8D discipline structure. Each of the eight disciplines (D1: Team, D2: Problem Description, D3: Containment, D4: Root Cause, D5: Chosen Corrective Action, D6: Implementation, D7: Systemic Prevention, D8: Closure) is a discrete workflow step with its own completion state and evidence fields.
The SCAR state machine enforces discipline prerequisites — you cannot advance to D5 without completing D4 root-cause analysis. This prevents the common pattern of "closing" a SCAR without demonstrating systemic correction.
SCAR severity classification
SCARs are classified by severity: Major (requires D1–D8 completion, formal closure signature) and Minor (streamlined workflow). Severity drives response-time SLAs configurable per tenant.
Cost recovery tracking
Each SCAR records costs associated with the supplier quality event: inspection costs, rework labor, scrap value, and expedite charges. Cost recovery requests are tracked against the SCAR with acceptance/rejection status. This data feeds supplier performance scoring and is exportable for charge-back reconciliation.
Supplier item performance
Every approved supplier has item-level qualification records linking a supplier to a specific part number with a qualified status. Incoming inspection requirements are configurable per supplier-item pair — sampling plan, inspection level, and release authority.
